January 10, 2006 Quincy, MA. – Videré Conferencing, New England’s leading provider of video, audio and web conferencing solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a blanket contract by the Massachusetts Department of Education’s prime contractor, City Lights Electrical Co., to provide video conferencing equipment and related services for SABES, the System for Adult Basic Education Support. SABES is a comprehensive training and technical assistance initiative for educators and programs. Videré has been instrumental in connecting SABES 11 satellite locations to the Massachusetts Information Turnpike Initiative (MITI Network), a fiber optic network connecting the State and Community College System. Videré installed a Tandberg gateway that enabled seamless integration between MITI’s IP and SABES ISDN networks. As a result, SABES now has access to broadcast quality audio and video transmission of credit courses, workshops, and continuing education efforts at its 11 locations across Massachusetts. “Videré is a strong supporter of adult-based continuing education programs and it is very gratifying to work with the Massachusetts Department of Education on a project like this that impact so many lives,” said Bill Benoit, co-founder of Videré Conferencing. “MITI is a world-class fiber optic network and a tremendous resource for all aspects of the state’s higher education network. ”Videré is a full-service organization that manages every
aspect of the conferencing project, from best practices consultation,
to product selection, custom installations, training, maintenance and
support. Videré has completed dozens of conferencing projects for
