May 23, 2005 Quincy, MA.(BUSINESS WIRE)May 23, 2005Providea Conferencing, New England's leading provider of video, audio and web conferencing solutions, announced today that Brain Saving Technologies (BST) has selected to them to provide consultation, design and support services for BST's regional Neuro-TeleMD Consortiums. BST improves the care of stroke patients by arranging for advanced digital video medicine services and the highest quality consultation services connecting physicians with neuro critical care experts, 24/7. As a result of the relationship, Providea will provide technical guidance and support to BST, as well as recommendations on the best conferencing equipment to fit this specific application. After careful consideration of the application requirements, Providea selected the Tandberg Intern II Tele-HealthCare Solution for BST's Neuro-TeleMD Consortiums. The Tandberg Intern II Tele-HealthCare Solution is capable of simultaneous audio and video transmission, and provides a bidirectional video-conferencing and image display capability to help physicians thoroughly evaluate, diagnose and recommend patient treatment. The system also enables patients and/or their families to interact directly with neuro critical care experts in real-time. "BST has created a truly unique digital video medicine network and we needed a partner that we could trust to make the right decisions about networking and product selection issues," said Stuart Bernstein, president and chief operating officer of BST. "Having Providea as a conferencing partner has enabled us to focus on expanding the Neuro-TeleMD Consortiums, and attracting new doctors and hospitals to bring this life-saving capability to as many communities as possible." "BST is a very innovative, cutting-edge company. We are proud to be working with them to create this one-of-a-kind regional digital video medicine network," said Todd Luttinger, chief executive officer of Providea. "BST's network is enabling doctors at community hospitals to have real-time, visual, two-way interaction with neuro critical care experts when they need it most, the hours just after the onset of stroke symptoms. This is a tremendous step forward for communities who don't have immediate access to neuro critical care experts." About Videré Conferencing Robert Padgett |
